
Buffalo Firefighters responded on 3/1/23 at 0957 Hrs for a report of a structure fire on Main St.
B-56 went on location with heavy smoke showing from the 1st floor in a 3 story building and requested the 2nd alarm to the scene. F-11 reported heavy fire conditions on the #2 side & further reported heavy fire in the rear of the building. B-56 requested the 3rd alarm to the scene and ordered all companies out of the building due to conditions and ordered defensive operations. Command reported a backdraft in the building and a Mayday was declared by Engine 2. B-56 ordered all crews out due to heavy fire conditions and further requested the 4th alarm to the scene and reported a 2nd backdraft in the building.
One Firefighter was located, extricated from the building, and pronounced at the scene.
